BEGIN YOUR JOURNEY

with Garland Church

KNOW Christ, JOURNEY with Him, and SHARE His love with the world.

If you’re new to Garland Church, we’d love to meet you and introduce you to our fellowship. Once you’ve attended the Welcome to Garland gathering, you’re invited to attend Begin Your Journey, a five-meeting follow-on class. Together, these two experiences form a six-meeting introduction to find out how Garland can help you to . . .

  • Step 1: Welcome to Garland

Join us for the next Welcome to Garland. At this gathering you will be able to meet other newcomers, get to know some of our Staff and other leaders, hear about our mission and beliefs, and learn more about how you can journey with our faith community.

We'll provide a drink from our HUB Coffee Bar and a light lunch, so please let us know you’re planning to attend by registering below.

  • Step 2: Begin Your Journey

BYJ is a basic introduction to Garland’s foundational practices on our identity in Christ, engaging the Scriptures, prayer, service and witness.

The Introductory Talks given by Pastor Rod Cosgrove will be referred to in the class, but can also be viewed at any time. As you’ll discover, these five habits also form the basis for how our Journey Groups function in their effort to be well-rounded, small biblical communities. As you’re willing, once this course is complete, it is our hope that you choose to take your next step and join one of our Journey Groups and/or Serve Teams.

  • Step 3: Journey Groups

The primary life of Garland Church happens in our Journey Groups. We grow more like Christ when we are in small biblical communities that are focused on our Identity in Christ, Scripture, Prayer, Serving and Sharing the good news about Jesus with others.

Journey Groups are not a just a “small group” but are more like small churches that go beyond fellowship and equipping by serving and sharing the gospel together. JG leaders are more like pastors of small flocks and members encourage each other in life and personal witness. Groups are usually intergenerational and all are welcome no matter what stage of the journey they are on.
