What is Disciplemaking?
The word disciple in the Greek language means "a learner." But it really has a lot more depth than a mere student identity; it has a connotation of learning something significant from somebody – of being an apprentice under a master craftsman. It's Yoda and Luke Skywalker.
To be a disciple means to humble yourself under the teaching of a person who's gone ahead.
The relationship between a spiritual apprentice and the journeyman is the foundation for spiritual growth. But don't be misled: disciplemaking is more than just gentle support. Disciplemaking relationships are immersive, authentic, raw.
The discipler offers unprecedented access to his or her life, while the disciple chooses to follow and learn.
