EVENTS AND CLASSES 2010
April 11: Heritage Sunday - Come to Garland Church
to hear about the Christian and Missionary Alliance. This is the
heritage of our church. The CMA is working all over the world. We'll
hear about some of it through video and interview. Linda Pace,
missionary to Columbia and Dominican Republic and from our own Body,
will be the guest speaker. We will also commission the 2nd Zambia
Team to go for us.
April 13-May 4: Zambia Team Two - Pray for them as
they minister to Jeremy and Bethany Colvin, our missionaries to
Zambia, and to the Fimpulu People. They go representing us. Pray
that God will do big things.
April 18: Garland Missions Fair. Come and hear
Edwin, Area Director to North Africa, from Partners International,
speak. He will tell us about what God is doing in North Africa these
days. You have heard the news, now hear God's news. After the
service, visit the tables in the Fellowship Hall to see how Garland
is supporting global missions. Ask questions about how you can join
in what God is doing through Garland globally.
April 24: Whitworth University is hosting a one day
conference about missions in Africa. "What Every Church, Non-Profit,
and Individual Should Know" will run from 8 AM-4:30 PM. There are
several presenters from global agencies speaking on very pertinent
topics to Garland's involvement in Zambia. Garland will pay the
registration fees. A light breakfast and lunch are included. The
seminars will be in the Seeley G. Mudd Chapel and Weyerhaeuser Hall.
Contact Linda Jo Reed if you plan to attend before April 11th.
What will we learn? See this:
Are you thinking strategically about how to best make a difference?
Is what you are currently doing or what you are considering doing
truly what Africa needs?
Are your efforts actually making a difference in Africa or is it
simply building Western dependency?
June 13: Joyce Johns, our own CMA missionary to Cambodia, will speak
in the service in the morning before she flies back to Cambodia.
Also, Storytelling for Zambia Team Two will happen during the
Community Hour. You won't want to miss either one.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
International Students Incorporated is a ministry that comes alongside college
students from other lands to help them become familiar with American
culture and language. They meet in the lower level at Fourth Memorial
Church monthly at 6:30pm. Anyone may attend "Talk Time" to get to know
an international student. It's a wonderful opportunity to reach out with
Christ's love to the nations. For further information, contact Debbie
Cruz. Stay tuned for future dates.
