Blessings Under the Bridge

Garland Church Night

Every Wednesday, a group of 50 volunteers meet to serve a hot meal, distribute toiletry and clothing items, and provide unconditional love to more than 300 homeless residents of Spokane.  Garland Church has the opportunity to be a part of this ministry on Wednesday, November 1.

Needed: 8-10 volunteers available from 5-9pm, donated items, and prayer support.

Donated items can be left in the donation box in the Garland Church Foyer.

Suggested donations may include:

Hygiene Items, Cough Drops, Hand Warmers

Socks, Gloves, Hats

Hoodies/Sweatshirts. Jeans, Coats

Boots/Tennis Shoes

Blankets/Sleeping bags, Thermals

Bus Passes

Sports Camp at Garland Church features an entire week of sports instruction in one of three sports. Kids can choose to focus on soccer, volleyball or cheerleading for their athletic training portion of the morning. The camp takes place daily from 9:00-12:15 the week of June 18-22 and includes sports instruction, skits, lessons, music, snacks, and games with positive role models along side them as head coaches and assistant coaches.  Kids going into grades K-6th are invited to attend. The cost is $35.00, and along with the camp includes a t-shirt and take home lessons. Participants do not need to have prior sports experience and all levels are welcome to attend.

Quilts of Valor Sew Day

Quilts of Valor Sew Day

Garland has an active quilting group. All-day events that are scheduled two to three times a year could include a class to make a fun project or work parties to make quilts through the Quilts of Valor organization. See the Garland QOV Group Facebook Page for more information read about a QOV project in the The Spokesman Review.

From our leader, Cherrie. . .   Saturday, May 19th, is QOV Sew Day at Garland Church.  We've been busy sewing during the winter and I will have 11 quilt bindings that need completed. If you are unable to come to Sew Day, but are willing to do the hand stitching on a quilt binding, please let me know. 

We've awarded 4 QOVs this week and have another 12 QOVs scheduled for awarding by the end of June. EXCITING!!

Come at 5:30pm for a Wednesdays@Garland-Style Pasta Dinner. All proceeds will help send our Youth Group to Ecuador this summer.

Following dinner, join us in the Worship Center for our Worship Service at 7pm.

There won't be any Worship on Sunday, May 6. We'll be out in the community in a variety of ways.

It’s going to be a fun & busy night! The music starts during dinner. Nursery & Preschool is available at 6:30 pm, but there will not be Kids Crew. Kids from K-5 are to be supervised by their parents in the gym until 7:30 pm or in the HUB all night. Youth Group is doing a Worship Night in the Youth Room at 6:45 pm and then play games in the Gym at 7:30 pm.
